Dakota

Adopted March 2026

03/20/2026 Dakota has been adopted by her volunteer foster mom in NJ.
Dakota was shy and not very socialized when she came in. Her adopter has been taking her everywhere and showing her the world can be a great place to explore! Dakota is filling the hole left since her new mom lost her last MAGDRL adopted Dane, it took time but she was ready to open her heart again. Dakota is one lucky girl, she got a wonderful loving home!

Dakota is a 5.5 year old female Great Dane who is a little overweight. She is extremely well behaved and does not need to be crated. She can be shy, especially with new males, but she warms up quickly. She loves to go on long walks and hikes where she can lead. She will pull on a leash if she’s nervous. She gets along with other dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and squirrels. She prefers dogs that are calm and respect her space. Dakota understands basic commands but believes that they are optional. She is very intelligent and quick to learn. She responds well to a consistent environment with a routine. She can be a bit jumpy with unfamiliar noises but adjusts. Dakota’s confidence has been building every day in her foster home as does her affection. At the end of the day, she will melt into your lap.
