He was heartbreaking surrendered with his BFF of 9 years a female Dane, when tragedy struck. During transport she was injured leading to a diagnosis of an aggressive bone cancer and was peacefully euthanized In a span of a few days, Max lost both his person and his closest canine companion.

Max took the loss hard. He stopped eating, then began vomiting, and despite multiple veterinary visits and tests, nothing medically was wrong. What Max needed was not another test—it was peace, routine, and reassurance.

That changed when he moved to a quieter foster home with a gentle 5-year-old female Dane. Since then, Max has started eating again, the vomiting has stopped, and he is finally relaxing. He has become deeply attached to both his foster sister and foster mom, shadowing them closely and seeming to draw comfort from their presence. He is especially respectful with the female Dane and even avoids touching her favorite things.

Max is clearly a sensitive soul who thrives on calm companionship. He struggled in a busy, chaotic home and needs a peaceful environment where he can continue to decompress and heal. A home with a female adopter and a calm female Dane would likely be his ideal match, but most importantly, Max needs someone who understands that his heart has been through a lot.

Max deserves a soft place to land, a steady hand to guide him, and a forever home where he can feel safe again.
