Roofus

10/11/2026 Roofus came in to rescue when he lost his owner. His foster mom fell hard for him and decided she couldn’t let him go. Roofus has a Dane sister now and is in a loving forever home and we couldn’t be happier for him.

09/26/2026 Roofus is the true definition of a gentle giant and a velcro Dane. He knows how to ask for affection by burrowing his nose and giving nudges, but like a true Dane, might not always be aware of his size and bump small children while seeking attention. Roofus is coexisting well with the more dominant female Dane in his foster home, showing submission and courtesy by respecting her boundaries and leaving her remaining food alone.
Roofus sat for the veterinarian and has been demonstrating his knowledge of stay, come, and lay down for his foster parent. He walks well on a leash, rides well in the car, and was very good at the vet for his neuter suture removal.
Roofus might be a big boy, but he is not a big barker. Having only barked twice since arriving at his foster home, he may be a good fit for an apartment or a gated community.
Overall, Roofus is the epitome of a gentle giant and has all of the characteristics one looks for in a Dane.

08/31/2026 Rufus is a calm and gentle neutered male senior of 6 years of age (DOB 4/01/2020), who was surrendered when he lost his owner. He lived with a small child and another medium sized dog and did great with them. He has just arrived in his foster home with an adult female Dane and they are doing very well together. More to come as we learn about this lovely boy.
