Baymax

Arrived March 2026

07/25/2026 From his foster home in the city: Baymax is settling in very well and continues to do great with us! He’s having a blast with his dog walker and looks forward to his walks with her. We’re seeing great progress with his leash manners—he’s getting much better at walking calmly once he settles into the walk. We’re also working on helping him approach other dogs more politely. He’s still very excited to meet every dog he sees, but he’s making steady progress with staying focused and greeting them more calmly. We’re also working on not lunging after every squirrel, bird, or other small critter that catches his eye during walks.

He still shows some stress and anxiety with the loud city noises and the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood, but he’s getting braver and more confident every day as he learns that those sounds aren’t anything to worry about. He’s continues to be a charming, friendly, social boy and continues to make progress every day!

06/28/2026 Baymax is thriving with his foster family and continues to make wonderful progress every day! He’s learning how to walk nicely on a leash and enjoys exploring the neighborhood as well as taking walks through Astoria Park.
One of Baymax’s favorite activities is meeting new people and dogs. He’s become quite the social butterfly and loves making friends wherever he goes. He especially enjoys visits to the local pet store, where he gets the chance to run around freely in their patio area and socialize with both canine and human companions.

As a newer city dog, Baymax is still adjusting to all the sights, sounds, and activity that come with urban life. The city noises and crowds can be a little overwhelming at times, but he is slowly becoming more comfortable and confident with each outing.
At home, Baymax is a total cuddle bug. He loves snuggling with his foster family and is always happy to settle in with his favorite toys and chew treats. When he first arrived, he was quick to bark at every sound he heard in the building, but he has become much more relaxed and comfortable in his surroundings. These days, he rarely barks at all.

Baymax is also doing great with his crate training. He settles in nicely and has mastered the art of enjoying a good nap after meals—especially when treats are involved!

Overall, Baymax is a happy, affectionate, and playful boy who continues to blossom in foster care. He brings joy to everyone he meets and is proving to be a wonderful companion. He is looking for his forever home, and someone will be very lucky to have him!

06/072026 If you’re looking for a giant cuddle buddy with an even bigger heart, this handsome Great Dane might be your perfect match!
This affectionate boy believes everyone is a friend he just hasn’t met yet. Whether it’s family, visitors, or strangers on a walk, he’s always ready to say hello and make a new best friend. Cuddles are non-negotiable in his world—he loves being close to his people and will happily lean all 100+ pounds of love right into you.
Like many young Danes, he has plenty of energy and enjoys long walks, playtime, and opportunities to stretch those long legs. He absolutely loves his toys and can often be found proudly carrying one around the house. And when the mood strikes, his zoomies are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!
He’s still working on some manners and would benefit from a home that can provide structure, consistency, and continued training. With guidance, exercise, and lots of love, he’s sure to become an amazing companion.

If you’re ready for a loyal shadow, endless affection, and a whole lot of Great Dane personality, this sweet boy is waiting to meet you!
