Athena (Hazel)

After losing her beloved Great Dane—her “soul sister”—Lynn’s home and heart felt unmistakably quieter. While the loss was profound, Lynn knew that one day she would be ready to open her heart again and find a new companion to share life’s simple moments, especially those spent snuggled on the couch.

That day came when Athena entered her life.

From the very beginning, Athena felt like the answer to Lynn’s prayers. With her gentle presence and unmistakable devotion, Athena quickly made it clear that she wasn’t just a dog—she was “part human,” always wanting to be right by Lynn’s side. Whether it’s lounging on the couch, following her from room to room, or simply being close, Athena has filled the space left behind with comfort, love, and companionship.

Athena didn’t replace a soul sister—she honored that bond by creating a new one. Together, Lynn and Athena are writing their next chapter, one filled with healing, laughter, and plenty of couch cuddles. 🐾💙

We found “Hazel’s” microchip and learned her name is Athena.  We are also are happy to announce Athena is pending adoption!

She’s loving, gentle, and kind with everyone she meets, greeting new friends with a happy heart and graceful steps. Her affectionate nature and friendly personality make her a joy to be around.
