Phoebe

Arrived September 2025

04/09/2026 Phoebe has been adjusting well in her foster home and has been opening up to her true loving playful personality. She loves her toys and always keeps one with her wherever she moves through the house. Phoebe loves learning and working on her training commands, she gets super excited when she sees her leash come out and her cheese being cut up and prepped. She still loves to cuddle when given the opportunity, but she has also started to feel more comfortable being independent and spending time laying by herself or finding somewhere the sun is coming in the window so she can nap.

She is very interested in the outside world but is still nervous and timid outside. She loves to watch the neighborhood kids and dogs walk by from her window by the couch. As the weather gets nicer, she is becoming more interested in hanging outside and laying in the sun. She gets into her zoomies mode outside every now and then loves to sprint full speed around the yard and jump around with a ball. Phoebe needs a home that will continue to socialize her and help her build more confidence. She is so loving and would love a forever home, could that be you?

02/14/2026 Phoebe is in a new foster home after several months of training and adjusting well. She is working on her confidence and continuing the training started with her recent board and trainers. She is working on commands such as heel, sit, down, place, and stay. She walks well on leash, but she can be very timid and spooks easily, so she is still learning to enjoy going for walks. She loves her people and will not try to run from you or pull on the leash, if she is nervous or gets spooked, she will sit and press her body into you. She enjoys car rides and rides well in the car. She sleeps throughout the night in her crate and will also put herself in her crate to relax throughout the day. She is a very loving and loyal companion.
Phoebe is a love bug. She loves attention but she does want ALL the attention, for that reason she is best as an only dog.

09/22/2025 Phoebe is a 2 year old black female with natural ears. She is a Great Dane but she is pretty sure she’s a tiny, graceful gazelle.

Phoebe is a vivacious firecracker with a “go big or go home” attitude. Phoebe is airborne leaps of joy and full-body tumbles when playing with other dogs, but a personality which is pure gold wanting nothing more than to plop her bum on your lap or beside you on the couch, aka certified snuggle queen. She lives BIG and she loves HARD. This beauty has a charisma we all wish we had, wanting to live life to the fullest. Phoebe is a very smart girl, she has figured out how to open doorknobs and door handles and will easily clear a four foot barrier. As long as you are with her, she will not go over a fence and leave you but she should never be left outside unattended. She will definitely keep you on your toes. She rides well in the car and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. She is house and crate trained.

Because her spirit is as big as she is, she’s best in a home with people familiar with large breeds and with older kids, as she will knock little ones down with her exuberance. She loves small children and can be gentle with them, but she just doesn’t know her size. She would love another big dog to play with. If you’re ready for laughter, love and adventure, Phoebe is looking for a special family to be with her every moment of life’s great experiences. If you ever thought about doing agility with a Dane, Phoebe is your girl! Training will be a requirement of Phoebe’s adoption. You do not want to miss out on this spirited soul with her infectious joy for life.
