Babe

Arrived June 2026

09/21/2026 Babe is doing great in her foster home, she has bonded to her foster mom (a true velcro) and after initially shying away from, her foster dad, she has come around and likes him too. She loves to play with her Dane foster siblings but will play rough. Give her a little time to get her playfulness out and then she will settle down and relax nicely with them. She is respectful of the small dog in her foster home and does not try to play with her. She shares toys and chews nicely and does not resource guard anything. She has been to a few events and does well, wanting to say hello to any dog that’s willing to let her. Babe is house trained, crate trained and does not try to get on the furniture. She does not counter surf. She is great on a leash and good with children. Babe has had to go to a temp foster home for a couple of days twice and did nicely each time, bonds very quickly to her caretaker. She loves her walks and then will snooze on her dog bed next to her foster mom most of the day, a real couch potato. She knows “sit” and “wait”. She rides well in the car, settles right down to nap. She is truly a gem and will be a wonderful addition for any home. She does seem too interested in cats, so probably best in a home with out them. Consider meeting Babe, she has filled out nicely and once she has her cherry eye repaired (very soon) she will be ready to go to her forever home.

08/01/2026 Babe, one of our female Dane/Mastiff mixes, is now a Jersey girl! Babe is now a year and a half old and is living in a home for the first time. She has been in her foster home for about a week now and is thriving there. She attached very quickly to her foster mom and is her shadow. She had one accident in the second day in the home but since then has done all of her business outside. She is crate trained and will cry at bedtime for about 10 mins before she settles down for the night, and may need a stern, “go to sleep” before she quiets. She is getting walked multiple times per day and loves her walks, she walks right at your side, her leash manners are great now. She is great with her canine foster brother and sisters, a male Dane, a female Dane and small mixed female. Babe loves cuddles and kisses and wants nothing more than to be loved and be right next to you. She is content to lie at your side chewing on a toy or napping, as long as you are nearby, she’s happy, a typical velcro pup. She is good in the car, loves meeting people and other dogs on her walks and was great at the vet. She is getting accustomed to loud noises and doing well with trucks, lawn mowers and vacuum cleaners. She has not been tested with small children but given her gentle nature, she would probably be fine meeting them. She may chase a cat but we don’t think she would hurt anyone. This is one sweetheart of a girl and will make someone a wonderful companion. If you are looking for that Great Dane Personality in a slightly smaller package, Babe is the girl for you!

06/20/2026 Just arrived. Babe is a spayed female piebald “Daniff”, she is half Dane, half Mastiff. She was given up because her owner was losing his home. She was surrendered with her two littermates. Babe just arrived and we are learning more about her. She is currently kenneled and will need a foster home. She has had no NO training and needs work on housebreaking, commands a leash walking. She also has a ‘cherry eye” which will need to be evaluated by a veterinarian. More to come as we learn more.
