Kahlo

Kahlo Came to MAGDRL in July 2025 (3)

Adopted August 2025 –

It gives me great pleasure to announce the adoption of our feisty little girl Kahlo to the Novick family.  The Novick’s and their  two children and their Australian Shepherd Latte, all met Kahlo and did so well with her, Carol her foster mom and I agreed they would be a wonderful home for her.  The Novick’s are just the kind of adopter Kahlo (now Sakura or Saki for short) needed.  She’s very savvy, a great leader with firm but gentle guidance to continue the work that Carol started with this adorable little maniac. lol
 
I want to thank our rescue partners at Barks of Hope for trusting us to take this girl in and find her a wonderful home.  I have to thank Josephine for getting up in the middle of the night to go meet her transporter and then driving her to Carol to foster.  
Biggest thanks goes to Carol for her patience and diligence with this challenging and very smart Cane Corso Mastiff/Great Dane mix.  Cute as a button but feisty as they come, she made amazing progress under Carol’s care and work with her.  I know in this adoptive home, she is going to turn into an amazing companion.  
This puppy would not have done well if she ended up in the wrong hands, I am so grateful we were able to give her what she needed thanks to these wonderful people who stepped up for her.

Kahlo is a  black 11 week old female Great Dane/Cane Corso/ mastiff mix. She is a very confident and independent puppy that loves  to investigate. Kahlo is very astute in new environments. She is learning how to be a well behaved young lady and responds to commands “sit”, “stay”, “wait”, “ok”, “out”, “in”, and “leave it”.  She is playful with people and other dogs. She loves lying next to her person to watch TV. Kahlo has a big appetite and so is very food motivated for training.  If it were up to Kahlo she would snack all day. 

Kahlo is working on housebreaking and is coming along well. She is crate trained and walks well on a leash. She loves car rides and travels well.

Training will be a requirement of her adoption. 

Kahlo would love an active home that will keep up with her puppy energy and continue to teach her to be the best she can be.
