Domino, formerly surrendered in VA, was adopted today by a family in NJ, she joins Ed and Theresa, their three children, Ronan, Rees and Killian and their three mixed breed dogs. This is another amazing animal loving family who Courtney (her foster mom) and I both agreed are the perfect family for Domino. I was there with them this morning when the entire family met her and I knew she was going to a home who would give her just what she needs to build her confidence, and provide the loving care she so deserves.
Domino is a one year old harlequin female with natural ears, given up because her owner had too many dogs and could not care for them all. Domino is a big-hearted beauty with a soft soul, looking for a forever home where she can finally feel safe, loved, and understood. This velcro girl wants nothing more than to be by your side—she’s the ultimate companion looking to be a loyal shadow.
Since arriving in foster care, Domino is blossoming. She’s discovered the joy of cozy beds, regular meals (cue her signature tippy-toe happy dance!), and the magic of positive reinforcement—especially when treats are involved! She’s working on commands like “sit,” “down,” and “wait,” and her food motivation makes training both fun and rewarding.
Domino has a playful, goofy side (yes, she might sneak a little counter surfing now and then—her foster mom swears it’s her mischievous blue eye leading the way). But beneath that silliness is a gentle, affectionate girl who’s learning the world can be a safe and loving place.
She’s currently living with two young children and adores them, especially her six-year-old human foster sister, whom she follows around like a devoted sidekick. Domino finds comfort and reassurance in her tiny humans and would thrive in a home where she can bond closely with her people.
While she enjoys walks and the company of her 15-year-old Maltese foster sibling, Domino can be startled by sudden noises or unexpected encounters. When spooked, she may try to leap into your arms in classic Scooby-Doo fashion—but with patience and trust, she’s learning that she doesn’t have to run anymore.
Domino’s ideal home would be one with an understanding family who will continue to build her confidence and offer the love she’s been waiting for. Training will be a condition of her adoption
