Buckingham – Courtesy Listing

Buckingham Came to MAGDRL as a Courtesy Listing June 2025 (5)

Buckingham (Buck for short)  is a good and beautiful 10 yr old boy. Still likes to run and play, very affectionate, not aggressive, just very loving and we love him very much. 
 
He’s always been gentle and tolerant of people, even our little nieces when they would even scream in his ear and pull his tail. Never an issue around food even when our special needs son would put his hand in Buck’s food bowl while Buck was eating. Buck hasn’t lived with other animals but he also had no issues when visiting relatives with their pets, even allowing our sister’s Chihuahua to take his bed. Buck is peaceful and never needed crate training since he was fine sleeping in his area as much as 15 hours at home alone.
 
Though Buckingham is continently still able to hold his urine, he does have back issues. So unfortunately at his age he has lost anal tone and as such is no longer able to keep from soiling himself with stool. I have been managing as best I could for the last year with long walks, stool bulking pills, frequent baths and tons of laundry.

The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. (MAGDRL) was organized in 1979 to serve the seven states of the Mid-Atlantic region. The organization is a DC corporation and has a charitable tax-exemption under 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
