Publicity
The publicity position is responsible themselves, as well as assisting
the local Publicity Coordinators, to contact the media (TV, newspapers,
magazines, radio, etc) on behalf of MAGDRL for attracting new adopters,
foster homes, and volunteers, and education the public on the ownership
of a Great Dane. As part of this, they will set up TV, radio shows,
and articles using approved volunteers, or themselves if needed,
to promote MAGDRL's cause; they will work with the Fundraising,
Events, and Meet and Greet Coordinators to publicize events. They
must work closely with not only the local Publicity Coordinators
in each area, but also with the President for national coverage,
and with the local chapter coordinators for local events.
Volunteers
The volunteer position requires the collection of all original volunteer
applications from the area coordinators. Applications are checked
for completeness and to ensure the required waivers are signed.
If there is any missing information, the coordinator for that volunteer
is notified so the information can be collected. This information
is then entered into the organizations database for access by all
coordinators. The original documents are then kept on file should
they be needed at some later date. They will also cross reference
the membership list and the volunteer database for the annual printing
and distribution of membership cards.
Policy and Procedures
Responsible for establishing the policies and procedures MAGDRL
members follow for volunteer, foster, Coordinator and Board Member.
Ensure that the policies are accepted and reviewed by the board,
and publish to the membership in some form. Responsible for maintaining,
updating and creating virtual and paper forms to be used by MAGDRL
members to track and historically maintain information and trends.
Work closely with Coordinators and Board members to establish said
procedures and policies. Provide opportunity for feedback from every
area.
Fundraising and Grants
The fundraising and grant member will focus on trying to get grants
for MAGDRL and look into fundraising programs that can be done organization
wide. They would look into the many offers that MAGDRL often gets
from people who would like us to use their product for fundraising.
They would also work together with each area to be sure that we
are not asking the same organization for donations multiple times.
Statistics
The statistics position requires the monthly collection of all statistics
related to the intake of dogs from each area coordinator. They are
checked for correctness and entered into a database. They will also
answer any questions related to the statistical information gathered.
The person in the statistics person also will do what is possible
to make it as easy as possible for the statistical information to
be accessed and passed on to whom ever may need it.
Legislative Director
The legislative director is responsible for keeping track of the
current dog laws, and how they affect MAGDRL, in each state that
we conduct business in. They should also keep track of, and make
our volunteers aware of, pending legislation related to dog law
in each area.
