Kathie Shea

Location: Kemblesville, PA

Rescue Experience: Kathie adopted her first MAGDRL orphan in 1990 and became and active volunteer in 1997. She began slowly as most do, doing home visits, transports and evaluations.  She than became the Turn In team leader for the PA/DE chapter, later becoming the coordinator. She has served several years on the board of directors in the volunteer position before taking over the Presidency 2 years ago.

Special Skills: Experienced with databases – set up the database for the state coordinators listing all volunteers and tracking all liability waivers for volunteers and foster homes. Being the President of a small business has given Kathie varied experience and expertise with people in a leadership role. She also has extensive experience serving on the board of directors for a number of other non-profit organizations including serving as a township auditor, president of a home & school association and 8 years on the board of directors of a non-profit Pennsylvania trade association. She is also currently on the board of directors of the Great Dane Club of Central PA, a member of GDCA and participates in the GDCA’s rescue committee.

Motto: Any day that I can help an owner hold on to their dog is like finding the pot at the end of the rainbow.

Vision for MAGDRL: To continue to see us help as many Danes in Need as possible while at the same time protecting and advancing the organization we have all grown to love and care about so deeply.
