Jody Cohen

Location: Millers, Maryland

Rescue Experience: Jody became involved with MAGDRL in 1998 after adopting her deaf and visually impaired Great Dane, Aspen. Aspen is a Therapy Dog and visits local Assisted Living facilities. Over the years she has volunteered in the areas of phone interviews, home inspections, evaluations, transports, fundraising/grants, events, etc. Jody has been the Treasurer since July 2001 and was the Newsletter Editor from 1999 ~ 2007. Jody handles our Dane Depot (our on-line merchandise store) and mail order business. She coordinates the yearly Sweepstakes Fundraiser, Carroll County Yard Sale, and the bi-yearly MD Candle Fundraiser. She's the Northern Maryland Meet & Greet Coordinator and NJ Liaison. Jody is co-owner of Thankful Paws Donation Coats & Apparel. She donates a percentage of each purchase to MAGDRL as well as donating coats, vests etc.

Special Skills: Organizational, time management, attention to detail, multitasking, customer oriented, newsletter design, patience, understanding and commitment to deaf and vision impaired dogs.

Vision for MAGDRL: To obtain Corporate Sponsorships for financial assistance, publicity, and educational support. To apply for and obtain grants for financial assistance. To form strong partnerships with breed clubs to help educate the public on our breed, buying from puppy mills/pet stores, and exceptional pet ownership. To form strong relationships with Animal Control and other humane organizations to promote exceptional treatment of animals and to take action upon those responsible for cruelty. To join forces with other rescue organizations to attain our goal of restoring dogs to good health and bringing dogs and people together...
